Supply Chain in Aircraft MRO part II

The aviation business environment change rapidly due to political issue, after tragedy 11 September. The aviation business grow and grow. The facts are aircraft manufacturer improve their technology to get the best aircraft that selected by airlines, aircraft supplier also increase in number in the last year, many company launch their airline business, many airport developed, many MRO company established, political issue about open sky agreement and regulator more strictly implement their regulation.

Supply Chain Management in Aircraft MRO How is the aviation system run, how each entity in this system work? Lets see picture above. In the aviation system there are four (4) main entity, supply entity, demand entity, inside entity and outside entity. Supply entity, are entity that produce air transport service directly or indirectly. This entity contains many business form. Airline, airport, maintenance and ground service, aircraft manufacturer, and regulator.Demand entity, are entity that used air transport service directly or indirectly. This entity are passenger, travel agent and others customer that used air transport service.Inside entity, are entity that influence directly in aviation system, inside entity is government and other political organization.Outside entity, are entity that influence indirectly in aviation system, this entity can be controlled by implemented technology. Outside entity is nature conditions like climatology and geographical conditions. Each entity explained above have their important rule. Its affected each other. To get harmonic aviation systems, each entity must be collaborated smoothly. Airline can’t run their operation without other entity supporting. Airline must develop the best collaboration with airport, regulator and maintenance provider. In big term, Supply entity must be give service that needed by demand entity. Demand entity must be given information about their service needed to supply entity. It is how supply demand in aviation business. On that picture can explain to us?, how small entity in aviation business interact each other?, in example aircraft MRO provider. MRO provider must develop the best fit their supply chain strategy to interact within airline and supplier. MRO provider must be given their best service that approved by aviation regulator, like Indonesian DGAC, FAA and EASA. Supply chain strategy to be important issue because MRO provider product is approve maintenance service, who grant approval? Regulator, Who buy MRO product? Airline and Who support their product? Supplier and aircraft manufacturer, So MRO provider must be develop relationship in objective give the best approved maintenance service and make sustainability of aviation system.
