1. Boeing Company

Boeing Company is a manufacturer of aircraft, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with its largest production facilities in Everett, Wash., near Seattle, Wash. He is also a defense contractor, and a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Boeing was founded by William Edward Boeing, which originally was a businessman and a successful logger. George Conrad Westervelt and colleagues in 1916, he established the company's aircraft factory who was named Pacific Aero Products. The two main divisions of Boeing Integrated Defense Systems is Boeing (IDS), responsible for military and aerospace products, and Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), is responsible for civil aircraft.

2. McDonnell Douglas

McDonnell Douglas is an United States aerospace company famous. The company was formed in 1967 resulted from the merger of the McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company Aircraft Corporation. In 1997 McDonnell Douglas became part of Boeing.

3. Northrop Grumman Corporation

Northrop Grumman Corporation is an aerospace and defense conglomerate that is the result of the merger in 1994 between the company and Northrop Grumman. The main component was added later with the takeover of Logicon, Teledyne Ryan, Litton (Ingalls, Avondale), Newport News, and TRW (sans LucasVarity). In 2005 Ronald Sugar is CEOnya.

4. Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin is an aircraft manufacturer established in 1995 with the merger of Lockheed Corporation with Martin Marietta. He is based in Bethesda, Maryland and employs 135,000 people worldwide. Until 2007, Robert J. Stevens is CEO. Lockheed Martin is a major defense contractor. In 2003 nearly 80% of customers are the U.S. Department of Defense and other U.S. Federal Government.

5. Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is a manufacturer of several models of jet aircraft. Gulfstream has been a unit of General Dynamics since 2001. The company has produced more than 1,500 aircraft for the government, corporate, private and military customers worldwide. More than a quarter of Fortune 500 companies operate Gulfstream aircraft.
